Strategic and creative content: NZIA Auckland branch newsletter

The NZIA Auckland Branch newsletter is a quarterly resource for over 2,000 members, providing updates on events, issues, branch activities and thought leadership that influence the architectural landscape of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Folio plays a central role in its production, ensuring it remains focused on topics of importance to architectural practice.

Our approach combines strategic planning, article commissioning and editing. Each edition is carefully assembled to include feature articles, Q&As, and book reviews that offer relevant insights for the professional community. We work closely with contributors to ensure the content addresses current challenges and opportunities in the field.

In addition to the main features, we summarise meeting minutes and upcoming events, presenting information in a clear and accessible format. Each element is reviewed thoroughly to maintain consistency and accuracy throughout.

Excerpt:

‘The other way to really embed Indigenous voice is to engage, employ, procure Indigenous voices and enterprise in the entire supply chain, from ideation to execution. Not in the sense of ticking a compliance box, but by understanding the value and contribution that one can bring and also seeking to elevate the idea of design excellence.’

—Q&A with Australian Indigenous architect, educator and advocate Jefa Greenaway ahead of his keynote talk at Auckland Architecture week 2022.
