Folio copyedited the programme for Te Wheke, a dance theatre production, which premiered at ASB Waterfront Theatre by Atamira Dance Company.

We worked with Atamira Artistic Director Jack Gray and graphic designers Osborne Shiwan to bring a compelling and consistent format to all artistic statements featured in the print programme. These included the opening text by Gray, as well as set design, lighting, costume and video design statements, and all eight dance descriptions.

Excerpt:

‘Our latest work, Te Wheke, is a milestone marking 21 years of exploration and research by the broader whānau. Atamira reconnects the past to the present and reveals new futures in a seamless trajectory of movement, art, design and collaboration. Over the past three years of development, we sought to reimagine the very fabric of our work and to understand the soul of our collective embodiment: our being-in-the-world. Illumination arrived in the form of a global pandemic, posing a threat to our existence. Without being in the same social bubble, without venues and audiences, could we even survive as an art form?’
